The model syllabus proposed by the Deans’ Committee, 2009 forms the basis of the BFSc syllabus of this College. However, being a land logged state, the importance of freshwater is more and there is little scope for fisheries processing technologies in the region; it was necessary to substitute some region specific courses in place of marine water fishery and processing technology courses. Curricula development for the BFSc degree of the College is thus based on the national pattern of syllabus suggested by the Deans’ Committee, 2009.
The necessary revisions noted above have been framed at the College and the proposal for introduction/ changes/ revision of any course thus included in the BFSc syllabus of the College was routed through the Board of Studies of the College for examination by the Academic Council and acceptance thereof. On approval of the Academic Council, the revised/modified courses were included in the BFSc syllabus.
