The Department of Fisheries Resource Management is a key department in the academic curriculum in Fisheries Science. The Academic curriculum offers most of the important and fundamental aspects of Fisheries Science viz. Taxonomy, Biology, Anatomy, Physiology of Finfish and & Shellfish, Inland and Marine Fisheries, Fish Population Dynamics etc. The Department possess a fish museum enabling students to ignite the urge to know about the fascinating world of fish and fisheries. Moreover, considering the major share in ARS-Scientist Recruitment by ICAR-ASRB, New Delhi, the department has opened PG in the academic year 2016-17 and PhD Program in 2019-20 respectively, which will give a new horizon to the department and their research activities will help in addressing the important and crucial issues of Fish and Fisheries in North-East India.
